"Bringing Together The House of Israel"

For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land...Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I shall be your God.” Ez.36:24,28

The Wilmington, NC

ALIYAH Project

What is the Wilmington, NC ALIYAH Project? Wilmington's ALIYAH Project is more than a building. It is a community of people committed to obeying God in the last days with regard to His will and purposes for the House of Israel. These people, Jew, Gentile, Christian, seekers, all sense a call from God deep in their hearts to be used in assisting the whole house of Israel to come into order before God, and to take their place in the land of Israel.

Who is The Wilmington ALIYAH Project for? It is for those heeding the call of God in their hearts and in Scripture to take their place in the land of Israel. Because this can be very costly and difficult to do, it is also for those people who feel called to assist in the work of ALIYAH and who view it as an important mission of historic scope and purpose.

Our VISION...

    1. We desire to help in the work of Aliyah. We believe it is a timely and important mission that God is setting on the hearts of many people in order that His fuller purposes may come to pass for Israel and for the world.

    2. We also see ALIYAH as a humanitarian issue in that we will help people who are persecuted and in need of a homeland attain that for themselves & their families.

    3. In doing the work of ALIYAH we believe that we will bring blessing on people, our congregations, families, city, and nation as we co-operate with God in His purposes for the Jewish people and for the house of Israel.

 4. We are non-sectarian in this mission and we harbor no animosity or ill-will toward any group or persons.

. Our purpose in the Aliyah Project is to express the love of God as we obey what we see are His intents.

About Us... I believe the Lord has called Carol and me to help bring forth this ALIYAH Project and its bases and works in Israel. I believe it will be a vehicle for collaborative things that we do not yet envision.

Coming from a Jewish background I have learned the importance of covering and being a part of a safe house.  In Hebraic language this is called a chupah, a covering. We understand the importance of building a house of safety, protection, provision, encouragement and love. In this regard we view The ALIYAH Project as a haven that will shelter and protect people spiritually as well as assisting them with their physical needs pertaining to Aliyah.

About My Wife Carol...

Carol has been serving along side me after many years of counseling people, working in clinical settings and teaching at the graduate level at University and Seminary. She is a gifted writer, organizer, speaker and leader with a zeal for God. She holds 5 degrees including a PhD in Psychology, a B.Th., an Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, an M.A. from Harvard, & a B.A. in Anthropology from Stanford. She has diverse talents and experience in a lot of different settings, which can be useful when you are facing the unexpected.

Over her lifetime  Dr. Carol has traveled to many nations & been privileged to work with many people groups. Dr. Carol believes that  the ALIYAH Project is something that God Himself is calling into existence. She has great anticipation regarding the works and good fruit that it will bear for the people of Wilmington, NC, and for the house of Israel.

People already being helped...

We have already advised and assisted a number of Jewish people returning to Israel, including Michael Stone of North Carolina. He writes, ”Working with Ron and Carol Cohen has been a good inspiration. With wonderful teaching, hospitality, and financial assistance, they have been a blessing to assist me in making Aliyah a wonderful experience for me and my children. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.” 1/14/09

What does the word “Aliyah” mean? Aliyah is a Hebrew word. It means to ascend, as in going up a mountain, or climbing a hill or spiritual ladder. In Psalm 24:3-6 When David talks about “going up” Mount Zion, he literally climbs up the incline, and also goes to a higher place or closer proximity to God.

Why is returning to Israel called “ALIYAH?” The idea is that people are in a sense  copy ing David. They are going up to Jerusalem and the mount where God will one day be. They are spiritually ascending to a higher place & closer proximity in their walk with God.

Does the ALIYAH Project have a religious affiliation? The ALIYAH Project is organized as part of a tax-exempt charity. It ascribes to a Judeo-Christian worldview. Donations are tax-deductible in the U.S.

I have sensed a call to go to Israel myself. Is that unusual, especially if I am not Jewish? God seems to be birthing a love of the house of Israel in many people. and especially in those of faith. A number of books have been written that support the notion that many people may be actual physical descendants of the Israelites who were dispersed. Also, people of faith often come to have strong and uncanny attachments to Israel.

How will the Wilmington Aliyah Project relate to other works for Aliyah? We have met and consulted with key agencies involved in Aliyah internationally in order to build good working relastionships. We also have financially assisted other organizations in Israel who care for people in need.

What do you do in Wilmington? We handle calls and inquiries, walk alongside people starting ALIYAH, and maintain close ties with Israel. We also collaborate with other groups involved in assisting Aliyah.

Where is the Aliyah Project in Israel? We believe the Lord wants 3 bases for the ALIYAH Project in Israel: one in the city of Jerusalem, one in the inter-national gateway near Herzilya Pituach, and one in the Galilee region.

What is the role of TV & other media for the Wilmington, NC, ALIYAH Project? We believe that TV, Internet, and shortwave radio will have increasing roles to play in ALIYAH in the coming years. We have been in touch with an Israeli TV station used by major networks to shoot news coverage of the recent war with Lebanon due to the station's nearness to the Lebanese border. They offered to shoot a TV series for the Wilmington ALIYAH Project to air in Israel and abroad to help depict the needs of this region. As well a TV station in Virginia Beach has offered to assist with production needs
